Europcar Invests in a Modern, Greener Van Fleet

Acting on the growing demand in van rentals in the first half of 2012, Europcar is planning to invest in growing its van fleet in the UK with an emphasis on procuring vans that offer the latest in green technology. With online shopping still growing the logistics and courier sectors have seen fluctuations in demands and need to hire additional vans normally at very short notice to cover peaks.

“We’ve seen a huge surge in demand for vans over recent months and we are responding by increasing the size and quality of our van fleet with the latest models to ensure our range includes the latest in fuel efficiency technology”, explained Ken McCall, Managing Director, Europcar UK.

Nearly all the Europcar van fleet feature Euro 5 technology which are the most fuel efficient engines available. Low emission vans that comply to government legislation on CO2 emissions such as the Nissan NV200 are also being added to the fleet. The new green fleet includes the winner of the best new van 2012 the Vauxhall Combo compact. For bigger work loads, larger and bigger van models that include Renault Traffic, Ford Transit and the Vauxhall Vivaro are also available to hire at short notice.
