Sicily by Car, is a leading car rental company based in Italy. It was founded in 1963 by Tommaso Dragotto. Back then the fleet was based around the Iconic Fiat brand, with a very limited fleet consisting of a Fiat 1300, a Fiat 1100, and two Fiat 500s.
The company has since grown and more importantly expanded its limited fleet of Fiats. With an experienced and professional management team, the company has expanded into nearby France and since 1997, Sicily by Car has become a national presence.
Sicily by Car has offices inside the Falcone Borsellino international airport (PMO) or more simply Palermo airport, a stopover located about 30 kilometres from the Sicilian capital. Please note that they also provide car rental near Palermo Port and Palermo Central Train station.

Required Documents to Rent with Sicily By Car
1) A Valid Driving Licence
The lead driver must have a valid driving licence. You must have held your driving licence for at least 1 year before the rental start date.
Licence in English Alphabet
The licence should be from your Country of domicile (where you live) and if it is NOT in the English or Roman alphabet then you will also need an International Driving permit (IDP). Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver licence.
2) A Credit Card OR Debit Card in The Name of The lead Driver
Sicily by Car will accept either a Debit Card or a Credit Card for the local security deposit. To rent with Sicily by Car you must have a Mastercard/Visa/ American Express credit card under the main driver’s name. Debit cards are also accepted, No cash or cheque payments accepted.

*** Please note: If using Visa Debit, MasterCard Debit you will be required to purchase additional coverage at pick-up. It usually costs around 20 Eur per day but varies based on car class and supplier. When paying with Visa Debit, MasterCard Debit, the required deposit may be higher. The card must have chip and PIN capability.
3) Proof of Identity
The rental company will accept your passport or ID card.
4) A Car Rental Voucher
If you book online you will be issued a car rental voucher, this must also be presented to Sicily By Car.
