How Can I Extend my Sicily Car Hire Booking?

If the rental has commenced, you must contact the car rental supplier directly, contact details can be found on the rental voucher. If the car has not already been prebooked, the company will let you extend, but you will be charged a higher local rate.

Will my payment be refunded if I cancel my car hire booking?

Free cancellation applies until 48 hours before your pickup time, this means that if 24 hours notice provided you will be entitled to a full refund.

If you cancel your booking less than 48 hours before pickup, the amount paid when you book will not be refunded, but your travel insurance may cover this event.

Can I hire a car when I have penalty points on my licence?

How Old Do You Have To Be To Rent A People Carrier In Sicily?

The legal age to drive in Sicily is 18, but most if not all will impose age restrictions on renting a car in Italy. As a minimum, you will need to have held a full licence for one year (a few suppliers will require you to have held a licence for 2 years) see rental terms. If you will be renting a people carrier, expect to be levied with an additional underage charge.

As an example, with OKMobility Italy drivers under 26 will be charged an underage fee of 10.00 EUR per day, with a maximum of 300.00 EUR per rental. 

Any Upper Age Limit On Rental People Carrier In Sicily?

This will vary from supplier to supplier, example okmobility do not have any upper age limit, but others have an upper age limit of 80. Overall, Italy does not excessively penalise senior driver over age 80.
